Where To Watch The Super Bowl: Chicago 2023

Published by Chips On February 12, 2023

Super Bowl LVII is this Sunday, with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Philadelphia Eagles at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Both teams finished the season with a 14-3 record and were the #1 seed in their respective divisions heading into the playoffs. That alone should make this an entertaining battle from start to finish, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves – recent, past Super Bowl’s that looked great on paper ended with an unfulfilling finish (Buccaneers vs. Chiefs in 2021 and Patriots vs. Rams in 2019 are two that come to mind).

Kansas City will be out for Super Bowl revenge, hoping to perform better this year than in 2021 when the Chiefs failed to score a touchdown in a lopsided 31-9 defeat to the Super Bowl LV Champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Patrick Mahomes will return to the Super Bowl for the third time in his fifth season, where he’s 1-1. Mahomes’ health has been in question leading up to the Super Bowl, but we won’t be sure of his diagnosis until he takes the field at 6:30pm CST.

On the other side of the ball, the Philadelphia Eagles return to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2018, when former-Bears Nick Foles and Alshon Jeffrey upset the New England Patriots 41-33. While Foles won’t be under center this year, third-year starting quarterback Jalen Hurts will lead the Eagles’ offense. Despite injuries during the season, Hurts ended 2021-22 with an impressive 101.6 quarterback rating, deriving from 22 TDs, 6 INTs and throwing for 3,701 yards.

Eagles fans in Chicago

A great bar to watch this game is The River Kitchen and Bar in Lakeview. The River Bar and Grill in Chicago is one of the top destinations for Eagles fans in the city, with TVs throughout the bar tuned into every game, so no matter when you visit you can be sure that your team is on display. The interior of the restaurant is designed to look like an old-fashioned pub—dark wood paneling, cozy booths, and even a jukebox! But there are also plenty of modern touches: flat screen TVs, craft beer options on tap, and an extensive selection of American cuisine.

The atmosphere at River Bar and Grill is as lively as any good sports bar would be; cheers erupt when big plays happen during games or when Philly scores a touchdown. This Sunday it’s sure to be packed with loyal fans decked out in their green-and-white gear. Get there early and enjoy the game!

Chiefs fans in Chicago

For Kansas City fans, Toon’s Bar & Grill in Chicago is a lively Sports Bar and Eatery, located just off the Magnificent Mile. The interior has an inviting atmosphere with wooden fixtures, TVs everywhere, and plenty of Chiefs gear hanging on the walls. The menu features authentic Kansas City BBQ favorites such as burnt ends, ribs, brisket sandwiches and cheesy macaroni with K.C. flavors including house-made sauces available at each table. On game days there are all-you-can eat buffets with classic tailgating recipes like bratwurst plus pizza and chicken wings to fuel Chiefs fans through halftime. Fans can raise a beer glass in salute while they watch every touchdown along with other famous games being televised throughout the restaurant. Toon’s also offers plenty of take home merchandise for guests who want to show their loyalty beyond the four walls of the bar & grill!

Sedgwick’s Bar in Chicago is another option for KC fans, given its’ upbeat atmosphere. The restaurant offers a wide selection of drinks and delicious food – everything from traditional American cuisine to regional specialties. The walls are filled with memorabilia celebrating the Chiefs, including game highlights, team photos, and classic records from the past. For Kansas City Chiefs fans, there’s plenty of space for gatherings and pre-game parties with TVs playing the Kansas City Chiefs games throughout the bar area. With its low lighting and warm atmosphere, Sedgwick’s Bar in Chicago provides an inviting environment for both local Chiefs fans as well as visitors alike.

Wherever you watch the game today, stay safe, drink responsibly and let’s hope Justin Fields is under center this time around in 2024!
