You want to watch the big game but you aren’t in the mood to stay at home? But, you also don’t want to hunt all over town trying to find the best place to watch the game? We can help. If you want to watch a specific game, say Alabama vs Florida State, you may want to watch where all the Tide fans hang out, or watch with the Seminole fans. So how do you know where that is?
We’ve put together a map for each school’s alumni to integrate with Google Maps. This will pinpoint every bar for your team, from wherever location your at.
Below we have all of our NCAA teams’ Google Map links in an alphabetized list for you. When you click on the team you like, a map of the bars that host watch parties for that team comes up.
So when Alabama opens up their 2017-18 schedule against the Florida State Seminoles, Crimson Tide fans can click on the Alabama Crimson Tide Google Map link to hang with fellow alums, while Florida State fans can download and import the Florida State Seminoles Google Map.
When you look at the link for Tide fans you will notice a place called Houndstooth Saloon. If that doesn’t scream “Bear Bryant,” what does?
The map of Chicago bars for Florida State Seminole fans shows the Country Club and if you click on that, it gives you the address. You’ll be able to see where the bar’s at in relation to where you are at the moment. Click on the diamond above that with the right turn arrow and the directions will pop up. If you have Google Maps on your smart phone you can type in the address and get directions. The app will give you turn by turn voiced directions that will take you right to the parking lot.
You may be an alum of a smaller school with not a lot of graduates in the area. It might be tough to meet fellow alums in such a big city, but with this link you can find out where your people will be on game days.
Let’s say you graduated from Tulane University. You scroll down the list, find Tulane and see that they meet at State Bar and Grill. You click on that and get the address, then on to Google Maps and you are on your way to meet some fellow Green Waves and enjoy the game.
You may be a fan who wants to bar hop and check out a few different games on a Saturday. Why not? There are games from morning til midnight. Click on “Search By Location” and scroll down and you can see the addresses of all the sports bars. So you can see that in the 60614 zip code you have The Other Side which hosts the Minnesota Golden Gophers fans, Lincoln Avenue Social where the Oklahoma Sooners go to hang out and Kelly’s Pub where you can catch the Illini game. Sedgwick’s is also in the 60614 so you can end the night at one of the top pubs in the city.
The next week you might want to hit the 60622 zip code where you can catch the LSU Tigers fans at Standard Bar and Grill and then The Anthem for the Michigan State game.
