On paper, last week should have been the most exciting week of college football all season. What it turned out to be, was not.
Despite a great Friday Pac-12 showdown that saw the UCLA Bruins remain undefeated, overcoming the Washington Huskies (#15) 40-32, there wasn’t a whole lot of action in the games featuring ranked opponents. Granted the third quarter in the Oklahoma State Sooners (#9) and Baylor Bears (#16) was a slugfest, that was as close as we got to seeing two similarly talented teams.
Alabama Rolling Tide (#2) destroyed Arkansas Razorbacks (#20) 49-26, Ole Miss Rebels (#14) was never in doubt against Kentucky Wildcats (#7) despite the final score being 22-19, which was the same story in Wake Forest Demon Deacons (#22) defeat of Florida State Seminoles (#23) 31-21.
The Georgia Bulldogs (#1) are an interesting team to watch as they had trouble overtaking a mediocre Missouri Tigers in Columbia, but their next four games are at home with the finale being against the current #8 ranked Tennessee Volunteers.
UCLA and Utah should be the best game of the weekend. Is the Pac-12 legit?
